While we were home in Utah I had my cousin Whitney take some pics of Jocelyn. She did such an amazing job. You would never know that it was freezing and Jocelyn was crying almost the whole time. I love them. Good job Whitney!!!

Christmas Time '09

This year we were in Logan for Christmas. We had so much fun. Logan is so beautiful!!! Jocelyn had a blast opening presents and playing with her cousins.

We were at my parents house for New Years. Jocelyn got to hold her cousin Lili and give her all sorts of hugs and kisses. It is so fun to watch her run around with the big kids now. She is growing up so fast!!

Indoor Skydiving!!!

Brandon and I have been up in Logan for Christmas this week. We decided to go down to Ogden with Ali to try out indoor skydiving. It was way fun we had a blast!! I highly recommend it.

The Big One!!!

I can't believe it! She is already one year old...time flies. She was so absolutely adorable on her birthday. She was so lucky to have her Grandma Rainy come out for her birthday! She was so excited to have her come. We also had some friends come over for cake and ice cream. She just squealed when they walked in the door. It was just as if she knew it was her birthday party. She giggled in amazement when we sang happy birthday, she thought that was pretty cool. Then she devoured her cup cake...not to our surprise :)

Trick or Treating

We had decided not to go trick or treating because we figured that Jocelyn wouldn't care about it. Some of our friends were taking their kids so we decided it would be fun to take Jocelyn with the other kids. She LOVED it! She would walk up to the door on her own and put her hand up asking for a piece of candy. It was so cute. I am so glad we went!!!

Fun Halloween Party!!

Our friends Tanner and Dani had a halloween party last weekend. It was so cute! We had tonz of fun. Jocelyn makes a pretty cute tink!

Super Star Little Sis

Sydney had a battle of the bands competition in her class at school. She is so amazing at the guitar! She actually wrote the song that they played. It is so cute I just love it! She has written a few songs now and they are so good, I catch myself singing them when I am at home cleaning or just hanging out. Nobody knows where she gets this because my family is not musical.

New Words

Jocelyn is a little chatter box these days. She doesn't talk much in this video but you can hear her say "baby" really good. She like to look at pictures of herself on my phone. Pretty cute!

August Adventures

August was an eventful month. Brandon finished his intership at C.R. BARD. He absolutely loved it!! He would love to work for them when he is done with school. He had a couple of weeks between internship and school so we went to Utah. When we got back it was my birhday, Brandon made me the best brownies ever for my b-day cake. :) Our anniversary was on the 31st. 3 years already...craziness. We actually got away for a night and stayed in Park City when we went to Utah to celebrate our anniversary. It was so fun to get away, but one night was a good amount of time to leave Jocelyn for the first time. Thanks for watching her Grandma Rainy :)

Brandon is now back in school and busy as ever. I am working from home full time and it is going really well. It has been fun to have all of our friends back from their summer internships. We have had lots of get togethers, and lots more to come with football season just starting :)

Jocelyn is getting big so fast! She is all over the place, she is so close to walking I think that any day she will just surprise us. I am okay if it takes a little longer, because once she starts walking and then running working from home will be a whole new adventure!!!

Our airconditioning went out last month. Our house got up to 95 degrees and then you would walk outside to 115 degrees...it was no fun. Poor Jocelyn got a heat rash so we ended up staying in a hotel for the week.

We went to California over the weekend. Brandon took Jocelyn on the carousel, she loved it. Jocelyn went to the beach for the first time. She thought the water was cold at first, but once she adjusted she loved it. It was so nice to get out ofthe heat for the weekend!!!

Brandons parents and Ali came to AZ for the 4th. We went and saw Wicked on Saturday afternoon. It was so cute, I loved it!!! Our friends Todd and Jen watched Jocelyn for us while we went to the show. They came over to our house with their three girls that night for a bbq. Ari was ok having Jocelyn around as long as her dad Todd was not holding her. :) On Sunday we went to the park with Brandon's family. It was still 107 degrees as the sun was going down!! Thanks for comin' out fam...we had tonz of fun!!!

Visitors!!!

Jenny and her sister Cassi drove down to Arizona with their kids, (yes- 4 kids and Cassie has one on the way!) Luckily their drive went smoothly :) They are staying with her brother, but last week they came over to our house and went swimming with me and Jocelyn. It was so fun to see them. Last Friday I got a call from Heather, she was in town visiting her sister who lives in Queencreek. I went over to her sisters house and we hung out for a little bit. Her little girl Livee (who was sleeping while we took this pic) is so adorable!! It was so fun to see her. Love ya Heather.

Ali's Graduation

It was so fun to go to Logan for Ali's Graduation. Logan is beautiful right now. I went for a jog in the rain and I felt like I was in heaven. Jocleyn loved sitting is the soft green grass (Arizona only has dry weeds for grass), and playing with her cousins. Brandon was not able to come because he had to work. He was very sad he had to miss his little sis' graduation.

I personally do not know much about other religions so I really appreciated hearing others beliefs and backgrounds. Jocelyn's 1st Diamondbacks Game

Last week Jeff and Renee came down to visit us. It was a pretty eventful trip. Jeff came down to attend a golf school so he was gone during the day. Renee watched Jocelyn on Monday and Tuesday while I worked and Brandon went to school. Monday and Tuesday night we went to a couple of Diamondback games. It was really fun to go to the games, eat some brats with ridiculously greasy garlic fries, and most of all enjoy the beautiful AZ weather. Jocelyn loved it! On Wednesday I took the day off and Renee, Jocelyn, and I sat by the pool and went shopping. The trip was really fast, but way fun. Thanks for visiting Mom and Dad Smith! :)

Everybody Together...

Over Easter weekend Brandon, I, and Jocelyn got to go home to Utah. It was awesome because all of the Capell's were in town as well as all of the Smith's. It was a crazy trip. We had a wedding, baby blessing, family pictures, and lots more. We got to meet Weston (Ben and Cassi's little boy) and Brinley (Steve and Britt's little girl). Lots of changes in the last year! We loved seeing everyone. It is not very often that the whole family gets together on either side let alone both!

House Projects

Brandon and decided to update our guest bathroom. It actually was a lot more work then we thought, but it always is right? (or maybe it is just us :) ) I really like how it turned out. It was a fun project. My next project is curtains. I got a sewing machine for Christmas, but I have to teach myself how to sew again because I haven't since I was like 12.

ASU Basketball

Brandon and I took Jocelyn to her first basketball game. She loved it! She was so tired on the way there I thought we were crazy for taking her, but once we got there so couldn't keep her eyes off the game. She loved all the colors and action. It was a way good game, we had tons of fun.

Ok, so I know that I am about a month late in posting this. Time has just been flying by! We had a really good V-Day. We did pretty much nothing but stay at home, which sounds really boring, but honestly it was so nice. We were totally lazy just laid on our bed listening to the i-pod and playing with Jocelyn. That night we had a b-b-q at the house and then had fondue that night. We had fondue last year and decided to make it our tradition. It is a good one! I also saw these cupcake in a magazine and of coarse had to make the chocolate cup cake with brownies on top. Baking is officially my love-hate relationship, I love to bake, but hate that I love to eat it too! I ended up taking the cupcake to work & friends really fast just to get them out of the house.

Dress Up!

So the best part of having a little girl is getting her all dolled-up! I tried to get Jocelyn in her cute tutu and ballet slippers for some cute Valentine pics, but as you can see she wasn't very happy about it :) HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Rock'n Roll Marathon

Last weekend Brandon and his dad ran in the Rock'n Roll Marathon. Brandon actually ended up only running the half marathon because between school and the baby he didn't have time to train for the full marathon. Jeff finished the race in great time even though he had a hurt foot! I think Brandon is pretty upset that his dad can out run him :) Renee & Ali got to the race at 5 a.m. and signed up as volunteers. Jocelyn and I met up with them around 7. It was really fun we got to hand out the metals to all the runners as they crossed the finish line. We had the best seat in the house.

Home For the Holidays

I was so excited to bring Jocelyn home for Christmas. We were so lucky to be able to spend three weeks in Utah because I was still on maternity leave and Brandon has a break from school until the 20th of January. Jocelyn is a good little traveler, we spent time in both American Fork and Logan. We also were able to visit a bunch of friends. It was good to see everyone. I feel like we have lived in Arizona for so long even though it has only been about 7 months. Jocelyn had her 2 month check up and now weights 10 lbs 12 oz!

Baby Blessing

Jocelyn was full of smiles the morning of her baby blessing. She looked so beautiful. It was so fun to be able to have her blessing in Utah so friends and family could come. Thank you to everyone who could make it.

Growing Fast

I took Jocelyn to the doctor on Monday she is 8 lbs and 14 oz! She has grown 3 lbs in 5 weeks! She is a good eater I'll tell you what. Here is some new pics so you can see how much she has grown.

Sedona

So a couple of weekends ago Brandon and I decided to drive to Sedona, AZ. It was so fun to take a mini road trip. Sedona is beautiful and it was nice to enjoy the 65 degree weather, because at that point it was still in the high 90's everyday. We will have to go back when I am not 9 months prego and try out some of the hikes!

MBA Wives

I had a pretty hard time adjusting to Brandon's 100 hour a week school schedule, I am not going to lie. I never see him, so luckily I have become good friends with other wives who's husbands are in the MBA program. They are awesome! It is so fun to have the girls to hang out with. Since we are all basically on the same schedule our weekends usually consist of the hubbies getting together at one of our houses for the BYU football game and us girls will go shopping or to lunch. Last night they through me a baby shower. It was so much fun. Thanks girls you are the best! Jocelyn loves her new outfits!

Random Trip Home to Utah

Last weekend my parents called me Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. and asked if I wanted to come home for the weekend since I didn't have to work that Friday. I didn't hesitate for a second, I was on a flight Friday morning and in Utah by 10:00 a.m. It was a perfect fall weekend to come home. I got to go for a walk up Provo canyon and see the beautiful fall leaves. I was really missing fall since it was still 105-110 degrees here in Phoenix! Sydney had her 11 year old b-day party it was fun to be there with her. On Saturday Mom, Syd, and I meet up with all of our cousins at Gardners Village and walked around the cute shops and enjoyed a delicious pumpkin cookie! I had never been there before, it is so cute I highly recommend anyone in Utah to make the trip. It was extra cute all decorated with fall and Halloween decor. I was sad Brandon couldn't come home with me, but he got a lot of homework done :) The trip was short, but perfect! I only wish I had more time to meet up with my girls...next time! Any of my friends would tell you that I love fall time. It is my favorite now I feel much better that I got my fix of beautiful Utah in the fall.

Our trip to Utah was so fun! After the baby shower we went up to Logan. I forgot my camera so we don't have any pics :( We had tonz of fun we got to hang out with adorable Madi, Kevin and Becky's little girl. We went to the Hyrum lake and hung out on the beach it was really fun, Brandon got fried he is still peeling! Then we went back to AF and hung out with the Capell's. Josh got sick while Ben and Cassi were at Lake Powell so they came back early, I was glad because we got to spend more time with them. We went up to Park City which was so fun, I am really missing the mountains so I loved spending time up there in the 80 degree weather. On Saturday we went to Cameron's grave and then to a Bee's game in honor of Cameron, it was such a fun day. We miss Cameron so much and I think about him all of the time. Thanks to my Dad we actually stayed a day longer and came home Sunday instead of Saturday, I will admit was having a hard time leaving so it was good to have another day at home!

Jocelyn's Baby Shower

So a few weeks ago Brandon and I got to go home and visit for a few days! I know we have only been in AZ for a few months, but I was so excited to come home and see everyone. I just want to say thanks to everyone who came to my shower and for all of the hard work everyone put into the shower.

So for some reason Andrea has been putting off posting a pic of the belly so I will help you all out. This is the best one we got. Jocelyn has been moving around quite a bit lately so its been fun.

Happy 4th!

The 4th of July was a feeling of mixed emotions. Brandon and I went to a Diamond Backs game. It was so much fun and the stadium is awesome. Brandon wanted to watch batting practice so we got their at like four and didn't leave until like ten thirty! We got some hot dogs, enjoyed the game, and stayed for the fireworks. It was awesome. I have to admit I was a little sad that we missed the fourth with the fam. I love the balloons in the morning, parade in the afternoon, and family fireworks at night. It is all good though it was a great 4th! I am starting to look nice and prego thats for sure!

Baby's Room

So the Jocelyn's room is coming along. We are so excited. We have had so much fun getting started on her room! The room was already painted pink when we moved in so we just decided to keep it. It has turned out pretty cute so far.

ITS A GIRL!!!

So Tuesday I had my ultra sound and found out that we are having a girl! I was so sad that Brandon couldn't be there it was so amazing. Brandon and I are so excited, she will be so much fun. My belly has really grown over the last few weeks Brandon will be in shock when he gets here on friday. I can't wait to see him!!! We are so blessed with all of these changes and exciting events. Brandon has already started school and is feeling pretty overwhelmed, but we are so grateful for everything that is happening. We are so thankful for all of the love and support from our family through this crazy time we couldn't make it with out them!

Our New House

So we closed on our house on the 6th of June! We are so excited to have a place of our own it will be so fun. Brandon is already down living in the house with all of our furniture and everything. I haven't even seen the house yet except in pictures! Funny huh. I love it though because its ours.

Moving Time!!

So Brandon has already left for Arizona. It is going to be a long three weeks without him!!! I think the longest we have ever been apart since we have known each other is about 3 days. He left to start school and I am staying here until I finish school on June 18th. I can't believe it is already time to start this new phase of life. The baby is doing good I have my 18 week appointment on Monday, so we will find out what we are having in about 2&1/2 weeks! We are also waiting to close on a house in Arizona. I am so excited to have a place of our own, it will be so fun! Closing is scheduled for June 6th so hopefully everything goes good!

Some of us girls got together for lunch the other day. It was so fun to see everyone. We all need to get together again soon before I leave.

Hanging with the Family!

A few weeks ago (ok a while ago I am not good at keeping up with my blog!) Brandon and I watched the Jazz game with Phil, Jenny, Bodie, & Carlie. Bodie wanted to listen to Phil's ipod so he made him wear headphones so it wouldn't be to load while we watched the game. Bodie is Jammin' out to his "cowboy music" and Carlie dances right along with him. This video is pretty cute! The best part is the Bodie has the headphones taped to his head so they won't fall out.

I AM PREGNANT!!

So ya, we are going to have a baby! We are so excited. I am only about 8 weeks along. I have my first doctors appointment in a week. We are stoked, but I must admit it came a lot faster than I expected. We probably shouldn't be announcing this so soon, but we aren't very good about keeping it a secret.

WHAT A MONTH!!

March has been a very exciting month for me and Brandon. The beginning of March Brandon and I went down to Arizona for Brandon's interview for grad school. We loved the Phoenix area and had so much fun getting away and enjoying the 85 degree weather. I had to fly back early for work and school and found out that I was pregnant the next morning! Brandon had his interview and came home. Breaking the big news about the baby right before the interview must have been good luck for Brandon because two weeks later we found out he has been accepted to both the MBA (Masters in Business Administration) program and the MHSM (Masters in Heath Sector Management). Even though our Mom's are not so happy, we could not be any happier. ASU was our first choice in schools. The crazy part is that Brandon starts school on May 31st!!! So he will have to take off to Arizona with out me for a few weeks while I finish my last few classes at UVSC. It is a lot of change really fast! We are sad to leave Utah, but it is close by and flights are cheap (so we expect no excuses when it comes to visiting us). I am so proud of Brandon he has worked so hard. We are very blessed to have been accepted to this program.

Brandon & Andrea Smith

I finally made a blog! Since I have been a slacker over the past year I have made a couple of slide shows to show you what Brandon and I have been up to since we have been married. Here is an update with the Smiths. Brandon and I were married August 31, 2006. Last Christmas we went on a Western Caribbean cruise for our delayed honeymoon, it was awesome! We have moved four times since we have been married, crazy huh! We first lived at Parkway Crossing (where I work) for a few months, then we lived in a really cute old house for about a year (by old, I mean built in 1929!). Next we lived in my uncle Gary's townhouse in Springville for just two months. Finally we are living in Ben and Cassi's townhouse which is also in Springville. It is so cute, we are loving it!! It has been a crazy year, but we couldn't be more blessed.

Brandon graduated from the U of U last April and is now applying to a few different programs to get his MBA. I should be finishing up my bachelors in Hospitality from U.V.S.C. this summer; just in time for Brandon to start back up in school again. This past two years have been the best ever, even though we have been extremely busy working full-time and school full-time it is worth it. We are just now waiting to see if and where Brandon gets accepted. It is a scary, but exciting time.
